About Woodworking Math
Woodworking Math exists because the numbers woodworkers use are scattered: species properties in government handbooks, dry and cure times in makers' data sheets, lumber sizes in standards, joint proportions in books and forum threads that disagree with each other. We gather them, show where each one came from, and say plainly when there is not enough to go on.
What we promise
- Every number names its sources. Three or more is the goal; fewer is labelled; none is refused.
- Every result explains its reasoning, step by step, from your inputs to the number.
- Everything is free, works on a phone, and keeps working offline once you have opened the site.
- What you type stays on your device. See the privacy page.
How we make money
The site may carry ads and affiliate links. Neither ever changes a number: the figures come only from the published sources each page names, by the rules on how we source. Any affiliate link is disclosed where it appears.
Who runs it
Woodworking Math, part of Davis Softworks, which builds free reference sites. Found a number that looks wrong, or a source we missed? Write to hello@woodworkingmath.com and we will check it against the sources and fix it.
